Guidelines only give the essential requirements. The way to meet those requirements to reduce risks can be found in European and international standards. They provide you with the state of the art in terms of components and technologies.
Process Automation Solutions helps you apply these standards in the design of your new machines as well as the evaluation of your existing machines during their lifetime. We use, among other things, EN ISO 12100 to perform a risk analysis.
When reducing risks by means of guards, as well as when designing emergency stops, safety functions must be defined and reliability calculations must be made for those functions, whereby 2 standards can be applied:
– EN IEC 62061 (SIL)
– EN ISO 13849-1 (PL)
PA Solutions helps you through a management system, the “machine safety lifecycle” to define, design, calculate and implement these functions.
Afterwards, a validation plan is also defined to evaluate the design according to the safety specifications.
